Delmina (Mina), began her show career at just 7 months with great results of best Bitch and Best Puppy each day. She is a small girl with a very big heart and presence. She is simply too cute for words when in the show ring!

Our home bred Nocino (Chi) begins his show career. Young Chi was a super star at his first ever show. He was confident and behaved perfectly each day and even won Best Of Breed (BOB) on the 3rd day with 6 Lagotto entered, including 2 specials.

Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Vid II becomes Canadian Champion at just 11 months old! Our young son of LK Bacci is doing amazing in the show ring and we are very excited about his future. Vid has joined our breeding program after attaining excellent health scores. His pups were due in spring of 2014.

Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Mario is the World Champion Lagotto Romagnolo. A dream came true for us when our Mario finished his European show tour by becoming the 2013 world champion as well as many other championships. He won Best of Breed at the World Dog Show at Budapest and returned home to earn his Grand Champion in 2013-2014 right here in Canada. Mario was # 1 ranked Lagotto in Canada in 2013.
Vid II – Canadian Champ at 11 months

Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Vid II becomes a Canadian Champion at just 11 months of age! We are so proud of this young son of Bacci and half brother to the World Winner, Mario. Vid was just plain born to be a show dog and proves it every time he goes in the ring, charming the judges with his lovely temperament, great movement and structure. Now Vid will just stay home for a while and spend his days playing with his friends. He will re-enter the show ring later this fall, either here or in Europe with his co-owner/breeder, Monica Benelli.
Augusto returns to the show ring

Il Granaio dei Malatesta Augusto returns to the show ring. Augusto – “Ago” – headed to California this spring to live with Bill Wilson and to enter the show ring for one last season at the age of 6 years old. As always Ago proved himself yet again by already earning his Certificate of Merit, now having won 11 Best of Breed and 7 Best of Misc. Ago you are without a doubt one of the most successful show dogs in the world!!!!! Mario comes home to Canada

After an incrediably successful year in Europe, including becoming the World Champion, we went to Italy to bring Mario home to have a well deserved rest and then to compete in Canada. Mario sired some great litters in Europe and will now be used in our breeding program with his first litter expected in late August. We want to thank Il Granaio Dei Malatesta for taking such wonderful care of our Mario and to thank his wonderful handlers for making it possible for him to have his outstanding results while in Europe.

After an incredible year in the show ring last year, our amazing Bug continues to show here in Canada with her much loved handler Nicole Simpson, now competing as a special. Later this fall we anticipate Bug will be having her first litter of pups. We are extremely excited about this planned litter. Stay tuned for more details.

We are so proud of our Il Granaio dei Malatesta Mario for his win, and judgement in the open class of the specialty Show last week end with famous judge Morsiani Giovanni in Milan. Judgement from Morsiani: 2 years, excellent proportions head body and legs, typical head with excellent skull, eyes of good shape with great dark iris as white color, excellent pigmentation, I would like the ears little up, good bite, excellent neck, excellent withers and topline, little short in croupe, good shoulder, the coat is really excellent with great curls over all the body, great movement with good rear. How exciting is that?! As always thank you to his breeder IL GRANAIO DEI MALATESTA!

Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Mario represented Lagotto Kennels in Europe in 2012. Mario had a great year showing in Europe last year winning many Championships. He stayed to compete in 2013 and will be joined by several of our youngsters breed here at LK. Thank you so much to our incrediable handlers of Mario and of course to his breeders as always for allowing us to own such a special lagotto.

Mario is doing great representing LK in Europe this year. Mario is now Luxemborg Champion, Croatian Champion, San Marino Champion, Montenegro champion, and Mediterranean Champion. Our young Mario just keeps getting better and better with many group placings as well. Good Luck Mario in the upcoming shows!
2011 in review

Lagotto Kennels in the show circuit It has been an eventful and exciting 2011 for us here at LK . Our Augusto represented us in Europe beyond compare even being featured as the model for an add in Hungary (see image below). Ago will now enjoy a much deserved retirement from the show ring. Our little Emma is now living in Europe and will be representing us in the show ring next year. We will also be taking one of our young males back in the spring to continue to compete in the International show ring.
This year we have had 3 lovely litters and are expecting another litter in December 2011. With the hope of continuing to breed top quality Lagotto Romagnolo, we have several new faces in our Lagotto Family. We imported Mario who is the son of the current World Champion and half brother to the JR World Champions to add to our breeding males for 2012. We also imported Mirta in Whelp to International champion: Gauluios delle Farne from Italy, hoping to further expand on our gene pool here at LK. From that litter we have kept Eva and Edo for future breeding. Next year with luck Bacci (who has already passed his prelim hip xrays) and Dahna, will be entering our breeding program after passing all health requirements. We have now retired our Contessa from our breeding program after producing four lovely litters.
She has been a great addition to our kennel. This fall we have done major upgrading to our facility here at LK. We have expanded our fencing to include another 3 acres for our dogs to play in every day as they are never kept in kennels. We have also upgraded and expanded our puppy area’s, we are building an onsite agility course for our own dogs and have also added a washing and grooming room. Il Granaio dei Malatesta Augusto left us for the 2011 show circuit in Europe in February returning home in Mid November. His results were amazing winning 12 national championship this year and never scoring below Excellent. He will now retire from the show ring to resume his breeding career here with us. LK Emma for Granaio

LK EMMA FOR GRANAIO the first North American born lagotto to be purchased back to Europe, made the long trip to Italy accompanied by Bridget and Kathy Haglof in October, 2010. Emma settled right in at her new home with Il Granaio Dei Malatesta , happy as always. Just two days later Emma at just 6 months of age competed at her first competition at the Bagnara Raduno placing third in her class with 165 lagotto at the raduno. Emma took everything in her stride and will resume her show career in January, 2011. We wish her all the luck for the coming years. We would like to thank Monica and Marco for their incredible hospitality and for giving our Emma such a wonderful loving home.
